sweetgreen - Fishtown

It’s been said there is no shortage of cool in Fishtown - and that’s certainly the energy we wanted to bring with the newest sweetgreen to the Philadelphia market. While located in the new ground-up development known as the Fishtown Collective, our goal, alongside with serving the freshest food - was to create a space that also served to the freshest art + culture scene. The restaurant is located on main drag of Frankford Ave., and continues to open up into a sprawling green patio in the rear of the space.
Our hero moment of the space is the central community table. It adds a wow factor when a customer walks into the space — and supports circulation and direction to the order point.
A custom design fabricated out of Douglas Fir plywood; each of the 3 table legs were developed with layers + layer of the plywood with the central leg acting as a tree planter. The tabletop is mosaic tile inlaid to be flush with the table edge.
Mirroring the organic curves is a freeform neon fixture, fabricated by Let There Be Neon, and designed with several rounds of collaboration to land on the final look + execution.
